Dale Women made it two wins from two on Tuesday night with a 4-0 victory at Bury FC Reserves.
Hanna Chlodek opened her account for the season in style by netting a hat-trick, with Holly Davenport converting a penalty kick for back-to-back goals.
Dale began on the front foot, controlling the ball and seeking an early opener against a team low on momentum.
Patience was needed against a stubborn Bury side but the deadlock was broken on the half-hour mark, Alicia Barnett getting the better of two markers before a third brought the winger down for a penalty. Up stepped Davenport to cooly place the ball home for the opener.
Bury held their own for large spells of the game, preventing any potential second goal before the half time interval.
New signing Emma Mackie played the ball down the right in the second-half towards Chlodek, she skipped past two Bury players to fire a shot past the Bury goalkeeper to double Dale’s lead.
Leah Jackson was called into action shortly after, a square ball catching the backline out but there was Dale’s goalkeeper to pull off a fine save.
Captain Nicole Malpus sent Chlodek clean through on goal, she showed great composure to round the goalkeeper and tap home for her second goal.
With minutes to play, it was four, Barnett unselfish again to play in Chlodek on the edge of the area who converted into the far corner to round off the scoring.
Lee Atkinson said: “It was a good away win.
“Bury made things tough for us but we’re happy with another clean sheet and the three points.
“Attention turns now to the FA Cup where we host Accrington Stanley at the Crown Oil Arena on Sunday.
“We know we have to be ready for a tough game.”
